The Company

Within the Southern African context, large scale poverty exists while at the same time there are well functioning businesses, universities and civil organisations. A major contributor to this systemic challenge is the historical lack of human capital investment. The Foundation is of the firm belief that the high impact entrepreneurial leaders will dramatically contribute to positive economic, social and political change. The Foundation therefore identifies, selects and invests in potential greatness over the long-term through its Scholarship and Fellowship opportunities.

The Challenge

The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation is multifaceted, having many parts that form part of its collective enterprise to improve South Africa. A large team is responsible for the successful functioning of the team, beyond that there are many more people who work with the foundation and they are all represented on the website. Managing the content effectively, accurately and efficiently was important.

The Solution

We did a content audit and recommended a site architecture that ensures cohesive content flow throughout. We customised WordPress with additional post types for displaying their content in unique layouts built on the Woo Framework. Custom fields in the edit screens of the various post types allow the client to easily update certain areas.

The Result

From backend to frontend, the project was developed to deliver simplicity in form and function. The design was of great importance to the Foundation’s clear identity that had to be communicated well. It’s elegant, clean and intuitive, which empowers the user to update the site confidently.
