My name is Pieter Honig, I’m 23 years old and I live in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Maastricht is a city in the south of the Netherlands, and it’s a few km near the Belgium border and 50km near the German border.
Currently I’m studying Commercial Economics in Sittard, and to finish my education I have my internship at Lightspeed, where I have to write the business plan for the new company: FeedMyMedia.
Cape Town is a place far away from Holland, so why did I choose for Cape Town?
I have been a trainee 2 times before in the Netherlands and I wanted to do something different, before I’m ending my career as a student. Therefore I wanted to go to a whole other city and Cape Town was one of the first city’s that took my interest, because of the great experience that my friends and other students had and shared with me. Of course I searched for more information about the city and I discovered that Cape Town has a lot to offer for me.
A week ago I have arrived at Cape Town and for what I’ve seen so far it is the most interesting city I have ever been to. The city itself is really beautiful, especially the view from table mountain at the enormous city. I’ve been wondering about the amount of activities I can do in Cape Town and the rest of South Africa, and to oversee it I had to make a to do list with all the activities I want to do in the 5 month period I’m here. Of course there are things like shark diving and bungee jumping on the list, but also visit an Ajax Cape Town soccer match and teach at a township school about Holland.
I already took some activities out of the list, because Friday I went surfing, Saturday I’ve visited the Table Mountain and yesterday I had my first braai .
In a few weeks I hope I can tell you more about all of the things I have done in Cape Town,
