My name is Ron de Groot and i’m 24 years old. I’m coming from Castricum which is located between Amsterdam and the north sea coast of the Netherlands. Currently I stay in Blouberg/Cape Town to conduct an internship at LightSpeed.
I am a third-year student at the School for Economics and Management in Amsterdam (http://www.international.hva.nl/). For my Bachelors program in Business Information Technology, I will conduct an internship for the duration of five months from September 2010 until January 2011. I already did an internship twice but never done it international. I think it will be very instructive because I would like to gain more international business experience and nevertheless improve my English. I already have some business experience because I have worked as an IT consultant for five years and founded a mobile ticketing platform in the Netherlands.
At LightSpeed I will cooperate in an environment based on the scrum methodology. It’s a different approach then I’m used to in the Netherlands and I like it already. Also I will have to do a lot with social media which is booming business at the moment and for my study I will write a functional/technical design for a project management system.
As you can read there is a lot of work to do so i’m ending this post and get to work. Thereby I must also enjoy the live in Cape Town / South-Africa which is already very fascinating to me.

Congratulations on the internship. I hope you enjoyed your stay in South Africa. For more jobs and internships feel free to visit Jobspace South Africa.
