Felix Schulz Von Thun’s internship experience at LightSpeed

It‘s already quite a while ago that I finished my work as an intern at LightSpeed. And on both sides it happened so much since then. When I joined the team almost four month ago I experienced a very hectic, work intensive time. The launch of the new Lightspeed 2.0 was about to happen and everybody had a huge amount of work to do.

But this didn‘t stop Ashley, Dianne and the rest of the team to take their time for me, to help me with my work and to integrate me into the team. I took part on meetings, was able to dicuss on different topics and joined partys after work, where I got to know the team better.

My tasks were all about the rise of social media. I learned to deal with pages like facebook, WordPress and LinkedIn, got to know the usefulness of blogs and wikis and did a lot of researches about several topics like the „green campaign“ or social media sites.
When I look back, I think the most important point while working at LightSpeed was that you are able to participate in the team and to take the responsibility for your work. In my opinion that‘s the most valuable thing I learned in these two months.
But of course there are other things I learned like what is and how to use social media marketing and I still use a lot of things I worked with. Facebook for example is very usefull and makes it easy for me to still be in contact with the LightSpeeders and the other interns I worked with.

I really enjoyed my time in South Africa. It was a challenge for me to travel that far for such a long time but I am happy that I took it and that you made it so easy for me to feel comfortable.

Thank you all guys I hope we meet again some time.
