Cape Town WordPress Meetup 2012
Categories: Blog
WordPress officially declared 2012 the year of the WordPress Meetup. We want to get in on the action and kick off with the first Cape Town WordPress Meetup of 2012 at Sinn’s Restaurant and Bar on Wednesday 25th April from 4 pm to 10 pm. Sinn’s is situated in Wembley Square in Gardens and has a long bar, WIFI and 20 powerpoints for laptops.
WordPress Meetups serve as opportunities for WordPress communities to come together and share their love and interest of WordPress, build relationships and learn from each other.
LightSpeed will once again be hosting WordCamp Cape Town this year, and Meetups also serve as a launchpad for WordCamps, allowing local WordPress fanatics to get to know each other, discuss relevant topics and helps set the tone in preparation for an upcoming WordCamp.
The format of this inaugural WordPress 2012 meetup is informal. The aim is to get WordPress lovers together so they can mingle and sit down and chat to one another. Members of the LightSpeed and WooThemes teams will be in attendance and we’re looking forward to meet you!
Come by and share a beer, a joke and your WordPress insights.
Note: Attendees will be expected to pay for their own food and drinks.
Please RSVP for the event here.

I’m in!
Hi Rob
In the run up to the event, we were wondering: What is it that you are most looking forward to about this event?
Meeting new ppl and of course asking everyone what they are currently building.
Thanks for the input Rob!
Finding out what everyone’s building will of course be a very interesting question…
Pity it’s at a bar, Would have loved to attend but have to avoid drinking parties. Will WordCamp be alcohol free at least for the main presentation part? Please please. Also I’m running a course, was meant to introduce it at last WordCamp but lack of time to plan prevented. When is the WordCamp planned for?
Hi NomadOne. WordCamp will be in the same format as last year, with drinks only after the presentations. WordCamp is planned for September, but we haven’t set dates yet.
Will there be girls?
Hi Foxinni
Looking at the RSVP’s on the Silicon Cape events page, we can confirm that there will be actual, live, human girls at this event.
Apart from meeting the ladies, what else are you looking forward to about this event?
