My name is Linda Lenaards. I am a 23-year old full-time student in the last year of the Marketing department of Hogeschool Zuyd in Sittard, The Netherlands, University of Applied Sciences. The marketing programme has a duration of four years.
I am a person who is eager to learn and always searching for new challenges. I wanted to finish my studies with a learning experience abroad. While orientating were I wanted to go I heard so many amazing stories about Cape Town from friends and family who already been here so I wanted to experience it myself. That’s why I ended up here in Cape Town.
I arrived with my friend Pieter Honig last Thursday and had a great weekend. I discovered the neighbourhood, rented a car, went to Muizenberg, Clifton Bay and met a lot of nice and very friendly people. I am already very excited about the city.
Today is my first day at LightSpeed were I will undertake my work placement. This internship has a four-month duration. The assignment lies within the field of commercial research and contains a business plan for LightSpeed. To fulfil this internship a thesis is part of the assignment.
During my stay in Cape Town I want to see al the nice places and do al the activities like shark diving, see the penguins, climb table mountain, visit devils peak, lions head, Kirstenbosch, Stellenbosch, drive the garden route etc…
I am very anxious to gain experience of the work, social life and culture in South Africa.
